Gold & Sullivan
Now I'm not knocking them for their knowledge in business but the pair of them know absolutely fuck all about football, I have said all along we need someone ITK to liase with them on players, someone who knows the game and knows a footballer as its not really happening.
We could and should have had Butland for £4 million and I have been saying this for the last year and not on his performance yesterday,he will be England's long term no 1 and could have been ours instead of the clown we have now.
Fullbacks, Jenknson cannot defend to save his life, decent going forward but his fitness at the moment s shocking for a professional athlete, Cresswell, wtf has happened? Struggled towards end of last season after looking top draw early on but this season he has fallen apart, hope it's a blip as when on song he is more than adequate.
Midfield, we have signed athletes rather than footballers apart from Payet who as good as he is gives it away far too easily in dangerous positions and with better players we might get away with it but won't with the static bunch we have around him.
Upfront, we need Austin no doubt about it but he will end up at N17 and cause carnage 😁
I understand that we have long term injuries but if we had spent our dough a bit more carefully than I really don't think we would be in this position.
Time and time again we look for bargain basement and loans but in this our special last season we should have pushed the boat out a bit, they love chirping on about this and that but in all honesty talk the talk but fail to walk the walk and it's not fuckng good enough!

Re: Gold & Sullivan
So Gold and Sullivan are to blame for Jenkinson and Cresswell, both stand out players last season, having a bad game yesterday?

Even by WHO standards, that's a little bit harsh!

norwich hammer 11:23 Sun Aug 23
Re: Gold & Sullivan
No the bigger picture, we are very thin in the ground and Jenkinson is not a million miles near match fitness but has to play as we have little option. We gave had five years to get a decent squad but we are threadbare as they sanction big dough on signing crap!

Re: Gold & Sullivan
You can't blame Gold and Sullivan for Cresswell and Jenkinson having bad games yesterday, but you can blame them for there being absolutely no one to bring on in their place if they are having a stinker, and that goes for near enough every other player in every position

It's a shame that Geno don't have more of a say in things.

And when's Song back? He'll make a difference and up the tempo in midfield.

Re: Gold & Sullivan
I've no complaints about them. We have gone from a club on the verge of failure to one which has a much better squad than we have had for a long time.
It's a pity much of the recent investment is on the treatment table currently.
Hoped for a better manager but it seems they didn't like what was on offer. It happens. West Ham doesn't have a good recent European pedigree or profile.

I'm still a bit concerned about the move to the OS. It feels like we have sold our soul but it's clear there will never be bigger spending on the squad unless we find ways of really increasing revenue and there is no way we would have the money to build our own purpose built stadium.

Easy to moan about the money being spent but look around the premiership and there are clubs who aren't spending much or are spending recklessly. We are where we are. Just need to accept we aren't in a position to spend or attract the sort of players which would drastically improve the squad.

I'd hate to see the fans turn on the owners, one who is an elderly man just because they basically are not reckless billionaires who want a premiership plaything.

Re: Gold & Sullivan
They're CHARLTON ATHLETIC level owners who got the club on the cheap when we were in dire financial difficulties...

Now, we somehow have less spending power than clubs like fucking Stoke City and we're missing-out on players like Ayew to fucking Swansea City...

We're a joke...

Re: Gold & Sullivan
I strongly agree on football knowledge, focus, expertise being a major issue. We are one of the only clubs I know of still without a director of football or technical director, or at least some infrastructure that fills a similar role. I think it's absolutely key.

Re: Gold & Sullivan
Yeah, berksie & V, I'm kind of with you there.

Shaqiri - Payet - Ayew
------------Sakho------

is an absolutely superb front 4, and really shouldn't have been beyond us. Ayew on a free, Shaqiri for £12m, having sold Downing for £7m.

Instead, the two players in wide areas we desperately need end up at fucking Stoke and Swansea respectively, and we look hopelessly narrow with Kevin Fucking Nolan starting games.

Re: Gold & Sullivan
I make the OP right. The way the club is run is, simply, a shambles. Could you imagine Levy's son mouthing off on twitter about potential new signings? It's the sort of stuff that provably happens at League 2 level. Sullivan clearly thinks he's a wheeler dealer, and that he's got the tactical nouse to unearth the next Messi and keeps interfering with transfers. We are ALWAYS short in 2 or 3 positions come deadline day, and end up scraping the barrel for a 36 year old journeyman. It's not good enough, and we deserve better. Either get help in how to a football club properly, or sell up to someone that does and go and buy Dagenham

Re: Gold & Sullivan
So who is Tony Henry then - I thought he was our Director of Recruitment?

BFS wasted millions of our budget and we are slowly getting it to mid-table levels. We still have about £35m of BFS signings doing nothing on our books. That's the real truth and keeping out of relegation trouble has to be our main aim. It is NOT CL challenges and the directors need to stop giving it large every time we sign "top players" that turn out to be cheap players.....

To be honest and I hate to say this, but I feel Allardyce carried these muppets for the last few seasons. Prior to him w had Grant (their choice) and now we have Bilic (yet to be proven).

I do think they know nothing about football at all
. We have a good scout in Tony Henry but so should be getting good players. Problem we have as fans is G&S and that schoolboy Jack like to spout us with Agent marketing like "We have signed the Jewel" etc.

After this season, probably the most important in terms of leaving the Boleyn they seriously need to think whether they have taken this club to the level where the fan demands for commitment from manager and players can be met by a strong transfer kitty.

To be fair, I think you can literally see the difference now that he is at the club. The focus has moved from very obvious domestic targets to a more continental outlook, and I've been impressed with the sort of players we've been linked with this Summer. I'm not saying that fixes everything, but I do think it's been a step forward for the club.

None of these comments were any where to be seen two weeks ago. Yes we have lost two home games on the bounce by the odd goal and in both games have had a player sent off. We have a few injuries and suspensions. I am not saying we don't need more players, we do. But this site has turned iinto exactly what it does every season and that is just a mud slinging site.

We are only three games into the season. Maiga scored yesterday and we through everything at them when down to ten and 2 - 4 down.

Bilic will get things sorted. Trust me.

Strongly disagree - two weeks ago many on the site were livid about the capitulation in Europe.

I don't see any problem in criticising what have been two poor performances at home against weaker sides in the league.

Leicester aren't currently a weaker side, they're unbeaten top of the table.
Bournemouth supposedly weaker but just gave liverpool run for their money at anfield and deserved a draw.
On paper they might be weaker sides, form atmo they're not,
